Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions Answered
What is your enrollment process and is there a waitlist?
Our enrollment process is designed to ensure a smooth and personalized experience for each family.  The first step in our enrollment process is to submit the $750 registration fee. This one-time payment secures your child's spot and allows us to initiate the enrollment procedure. Once the registration fee is paid, we ask families to complete our application form. This application provides us with essential information about your child, including their age, developmental stage, and any specific needs or preferences. After the application is submitted, our team will carefully review it to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child's individual needs and how we can best support their growth and development. As the next step, we will schedule a 1-on-1 appointment with one of our directors. During this meeting, both you and your child will have the opportunity to meet with our director, ask questions, and discuss any specific concerns or requirements you may have. This personalized interaction helps us create a tailored learning plan that aligns with your child's unique needs. Following the scheduled 1-on-1 appointment, our team will carefully evaluate the application and consider the information shared during the meeting. We will then communicate the enrollment decision to you in a timely manner. Our enrollment process operates on a rolling basis, meaning that we accept applications throughout the year. However, in the event that all spots are filled at the time of registration, we maintain a waitlist. Families who are placed on the waitlist will be contacted as soon as a spot becomes available. We understand the importance of timely communication and will keep you informed about your position on the waitlist. We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the enrollment process. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that each child and family receives the attention and care they deserve. If you have any additional questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff.

Will I be locked into a contract?
At Leap-ei, we value flexibility and understand that circumstances may change for families over time. Therefore, we do not lock our clients into a contract. We believe in providing our families with the freedom to make decisions that align with their evolving needs. However, it's important to note that we do have a notice period requirement should you choose to un-enroll your child from our program. We kindly request a three-month notice prior to the intended date of withdrawal. This notice period allows us to make necessary adjustments and accommodate other families who may be on our waitlist. We strive to maintain open lines of communication with our families, and we encourage you to reach out to our enrollment team if you have any questions or need further clarification on our policies. We are here to assist you throughout your journey with Leap-ei.
What is the Student-to-Teacher Ratio?
We pride ourselves on maintaining a remarkably low Student-to-Teacher ratio to ensure the highest quality of personalized care and attention for each child. With a maximum of 6 students per classroom, with a dedicated teacher and often an assistant teacher, we create an environment where every child's unique needs, developmental progress and individual strengths are not only recognized but also nurtured. This approach allows us to foster meaningful connections, facilitate interactive learning, and provide the necessary support to empower each child's growth and exploration.
How do you handle discipline and behavior management?
At Leap-ei, we believe in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for our preschoolers. Discipline and behavior management are approached with a focus on positive reinforcement, which is one of our core values. We aim to guide children in understanding positive versus negative behaviors through effective and beneficial methods. Rather than relying on the use of words like "no," we encourage our teachers and staff to redirect children's attention and provide clear, age-appropriate explanations of expected behaviors. Our approach emphasizes modeling and reinforcing positive actions, helping children develop a sense of self-regulation and making positive choices. Our dedicated team is trained in proactive strategies to promote positive behavior, such as offering praise, rewards, and encouragement when children exhibit appropriate conduct. We recognize and celebrate the efforts and achievements of our students, fostering a sense of self-esteem and confidence. In situations where challenging behaviors arise, our teachers and staff employ calm and consistent guidance, redirecting children towards more appropriate alternatives. We prioritize open communication with parents, ensuring that any concerns or challenges are discussed collaboratively, with the shared goal of supporting the child's growth and development. It is important to note that our focus is on teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors, rather than punishment or negative reinforcement. We believe that this approach creates a nurturing environment where children can thrive, learn, and develop lifelong skills for positive interactions and self-expression. If you have any further questions or would like additional information on our discipline and behavior management approach, please feel free to reach out to our staff. We are committed to partnering with parents to create a harmonious and supportive learning environment for all our preschoolers.
How do you handle potty training?
We understand that each child has their own unique timeline for potty training, and we are here to support both the child and their family during this developmental milestone. We have a flexible and inclusive approach to potty training that aims to meet the needs of each individual child. It is important to note that we do not require children to be fully potty trained before enrolling at our preschool. We recognize that potty training is a process that varies from child to child and can take time. Our experienced and caring staff members are prepared to assist and work collaboratively with families who are interested in pursuing potty training during their child's time with us. If parents express an interest in potty training their child, we are more than happy to provide guidance and support. Our teachers will work closely with parents to establish a consistent and coordinated approach between home and school. We will communicate regularly and exchange information regarding potty training progress, strategies, and any specific preferences or techniques that have been successful. Our nurturing environment fosters a positive and encouraging atmosphere, allowing children to feel comfortable and supported as they navigate this important milestone. We emphasize open communication and collaboration with parents, ensuring that we are aligned in our approach and working together towards successful potty training outcomes. Please be assured that our dedicated staff members have experience in guiding children through the potty training process. They are attentive, patient, and understanding, providing gentle reminders and assistance as needed. Our goal is to promote independence and self-care skills while respecting each child's pace and individual development. We encourage you to reach out to our team for further discussions about potty training, including any questions, concerns, or specific strategies you would like to implement. We are here to support your child's growth and development in all areas, including potty training, and we look forward to partnering with you on this journey. If you have any additional inquiries or require further information, please don't hesitate to contact our staff. We are committed to creating a positive and supportive environment for both children and their families at Leap-ei.
Are meals or snacks provided? Is there a specific policy regarding allergies or dietary restrictions?
Students bring their own lunches to encourage their growing independence and self-care skills. We believe that mealtime is not only an opportunity for nourishment but also a valuable social interaction where our preschoolers learn to socialize and practice manners. We encourage our students to feed themselves, promoting the development of fine motor skills and fostering a sense of responsibility. Our caring and attentive staff closely monitor mealtime to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. We understand the importance of addressing allergies and dietary restrictions to ensure the well-being of all our students. We kindly request parents to inform us of any specific allergies or dietary restrictions their child may have during the enrollment process. Our staff is trained to handle allergy-related concerns and will work closely with parents to implement necessary precautions. We have a strict policy in place to prevent cross-contamination and take all necessary measures to create a safe and inclusive environment for all our students. If you have any specific concerns or further questions regarding meals, snacks, allergies, or dietary restrictions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our staff. We are committed to working collaboratively with parents to provide a positive and supportive dining experience for all our preschoolers. Please note that while we encourage students to bring their own lunches, we do provide a designated space to store and eat their meals in a comfortable and supervised setting.
How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and daily activities?
We value open and ongoing communication with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities. We understand the importance of keeping parents informed and involved in their child's educational journey. Firstly, we utilize the Remind app, which allows us to provide photo updates and send reminders directly to parents. Through this platform, we share glimpses of their child's day, showcasing their participation in engaging activities and milestones achieved. Additionally, our teachers prioritize direct communication with each caregiver at dismissal time. This one-on-one interaction allows teachers to provide personalized feedback on each child's day, highlighting accomplishments, milestones, and any noteworthy moments. This direct conversation ensures that parents have a comprehensive understanding of their child's daily experiences and can address any questions or concerns. Furthermore, we send home daily updates in each student folder. These notes include important information about the activities, learning experiences, and highlights of the day. This tangible communication method allows parents to have a written record of their child's daily progress and serves as a reference for further discussions and engagement. By keeping parents informed and involved, we aim to create a supportive and collaborative environment that nurtures the growth and development of each child. If you have any further inquiries or would like to discuss our communication methods in more detail, please don't hesitate to reach out to our staff. We are dedicated to maintaining open lines of communication and working together to provide the best possible experience for your child at Leap-ei.
